Release of Koto 13 Version 2 and migration of all Sonica Instruments products to Native Access

Koto 13 Version 2, a full-featured upgrade from Koto 13

Koto 13 has been one of our most successful products, gaining a tremendous following. This is why we are so excited to announce the launch of Koto 13 Version 2, which represents a massive improvement in functionality and performance from Koto 13.

We have kept Koto 13’s superior sound quality, meticulous performance reproduction, and rich articulations while building in the same advanced sound architecture found on Koto 17 and Koto 20. This includes the String Editor, which lets you tune all 13 strings independently to create original scales, and the Instrument Modeler, which gives you control over fingerpick characteristics, the string character, and picking noise components.

Providing you with the traditional sound of the 13-string koto as well as the ability to create your own original sounds, Koto 13 Version 2 fits perfectly in more kinds of music than ever.

In addition to being fully compatible with NKS, Koto 13 Version 2 uses the Native Access administration tool for incredibly easy management of your library data, from installation and activation to updates.

See the product page for more details.

All Sonica Instruments products have been revamped to be fully compatible with NKS and Native Access

The Virtuoso Japanese Series of sound libraries featuring Japanese instruments has found a huge number of fans around the world. In order to make our products even easier to use, we decided to develop and release editions of all our products that are fully NKS compatible and managed with the Native Access administration tool. These editions are called NA editions to distinguish them from our legacy products.

Advantages of the NA editions

Easy, no-hassle library installations and management

After purchasing a Sonica Instruments product, simply add your license code (serial number) to Native Access, and Native Access will immediately download and install the library data for you. Reinstalls, updates, and all other library management processes can be done quickly and easily on Native Access.

Use your libraries with Komplete Start, a free production suite

Sonica Instruments products that previously required the Kontakt Full version can now also be used with Kontakt Player and Komplete Start, which are available for free from Native Instruments. You can use our NA editions without needing to purchase any other products.

Full support for NKS

NA editions support library browsing, loading, and control knob access in the same seamless way as Native Instruments’ Komplete products.

Virtuoso Japanese Series NA Edition Products

*Koto 17 and Koto 20 have been NA editions since their release in April 2021.

**Owners of Kabuki & Noh Percussion 96k Master Edition and Sanshin can upgrade to the respective NA editions of these products for free.

We have given free upgrades to the NA editions of these two products to all owners. The upgrades have been completed at the time of this email, and the products are already running as NA editions.

Notice of price changes

With the provision of NA editions for all our products, we have made the following price changes effective August 4, 2021.
