Important Notices from Sonica Instruments
Notice
The server problem that was reported on this page has been resolved and the software is now working properly.
If you wish to reinstall the KONTAKT Full version, please download it from the “Continuata” application as before.
Thank you for your support of Sonica Instruments. We are sending this email today to inform you of two important matters.
1. Suspension of Continuata installation services and an alternative installation method
Please note that this matter concerns only our Kontakt Full version products (listed below) and does not affect our newer products (Koto 13 Version 2, Koto 20, Koto 17, Sanshin, Kabuki & Noh Percussion 96k Master Edition, Tsugaru Shamisen NA Edition, Shakuhachi NA Edition, and Sho NA Edition).
Sonica Instruments has learned that a possible security incident affecting the download servers used by Continuata installation services occurred on or around August 4, 2021. Consequently, we have suspended all installation and reinstallation services using Continuata effective immediately out of an abundance of caution.
The servers in question hosted only files used for the downloading process. Rest assured that no personal or private information was compromised due to this incident.
Due to the suspension of Continuata services, we have prepared alternative download links for users wishing to re-download their libraries. If you need to re-download a purchased library, please use the following form to request a link to re-install your library.
Affected products
- Koto 13 (Kontakt Full version)
- Tsugaru Shamisen (Kontakt Full version)
- Shakuhachi (Kontakt Full version)
- Sho (Kontakt Full version)
We are currently working with our server provider to restore the servers in question. Until the servers and Continuata integration are fully restored, we will be providing downloads by the alternative method described above. We apologize for the inconvenience and ask for your patience until services are restored. We will notify you as soon as the restoration is complete.
Your convenience and security are of utmost importance to us, and we fully understand the concern raised by security incidents. Therefore, please be assured that we have implemented new server management measures to ensure this type of incident does not happen again.
We also apologize for the delay in notifying you of this matter.
2. My Account and purchase history display on the new Sonica Instruments’ website
Sonica Instruments completed a major upgrade and redesign of our website on April 26, 2021. The new website lets you check your registered information, your product purchase history, and your product serial numbers.
We sent out a brief notice about these new features. But as some users have requested a more detailed explanation, we are providing more details below.
Purchase history shown under My Account: The purchase history shown under My Account displays only purchases made from the Sonica Instruments online store or through our Japanese distributor on or after April 26, 2021 following the website update. To confirm these purchases and your serial numbers, go to My Account > Orders (https://sonica.jp/instruments/en/my-account/orders/).
*Note that you can check the serial numbers of NKS-enabled products (Kabuki & Noh Percussion 96k Master Edition and Sanshin) regardless of when they were purchased.
This means products purchased before April 26, 2021 cannot be confirmed directly under My Account.
Despite this limitation of the website, we keep secure records on all products purchased by all users. Serial number verification and technical support are available as always for all your purchased products, even if they do not appear under your account on the website.

Again, we appreciate your business and your continued support.
